Paul Bogaev is a Grammy and Emmy Award Winning Music Director, Producer, and Arranger whose film credits include the Oscar-Winning Chicago, Nine, Dreamgirls, Across The Universe, Mulan and The Lion King. Among his many Broadway credits are Aida, Tarzan, Bombay Dreams, Sunset Boulevard, Les Miserables, and most recently, Spider-man. For television, he was music director of Cinderella, Annie and South Pacific.

In these ongoing Song Performance Master Classes, Mr. Bogaev will focus on your song performance, vocal technique and audition material for the shows that are being produced in theatre, today. Any style of music is welcome from Folk, Jazz/Blues to Pop/Rock/Country, Musical Theatre & Opera! He will help with whatever you bring in to the class, whether that is audition material, callback material or cabaret material. He has also helped Opera Singers crossover into the Contemporary Musical Theater world.

Recipes

Dark Daiquiri

Glassware: Cocktail (“Martini Glass”)

Tools:

  • Mixing Tin
  • Mixing Glass
  • Hawthorne Strainer

Garnish: Lime Wedge

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Zaya Gran Reserva Rum
  • ½ oz. Simple Syrup
  • Juice of 1 Lime

Steps:

In a mixing tin half-filled with ice, add:

  • 2 oz. Zaya Gran Reserva Rum
  • ½ oz. Simple Syrup
  • Juice of 1 Lime

Cover with a mixing glass and shake until the tin is frosted.

Strain into a martini glass.

Garnish with a Lime Wedge to serve.

Menta Margarita

Glassware: Rocks

Tools:

  • Mixing Tin
  • Mixing Glass
  • Hawthorne Strainer

Garnish: Mint Sprig

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Tequila Corralejo Blanco
  • ½ oz. Brancamenta
  • Juice of 1 Lime

Steps:

In a mixing tin half-filled with ice, add:

  • 2 oz. Tequila Corralejo Blanco
  • ½ oz. Brancamenta
  • Juice of 1 Lime

Cover with a mixing glass and shake until the tin is frosted.

Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

Garnish with a Mint Sprig to serve.
